A scholar from Nehelipa long, long ago, there is a small number of those there who now follow the teachings of Slate as a religion. The way of Slate (also called Slatism) teaches the importance of being intellectually challenged and pushed in order to bring out one's best. A more aggressive philosophy than is common in Nehelipa, to follow it is to seek to expose others to new philosophical ideas and in the process force them to think about things in both new and old ways, to try to encourage new ideas.
Slatism in Nehelipa involves a healthy amount of philosophical debate, although its adherents are generally considered somewhat annoying thanks to a tendency to start such debates with random people who were going about their everyday lives.
In Khymonia the same teachings survive but are observed in a different manner - here Slate is worshipped as a god of challenging others for one's own gain. But rather than intellectual challenge and gain these are very physical in the Khymon interpretation of Slatism.
Slatism in Khymonia involves a considerable amount of beating people and taking their things, and its adherents are typically given a wide berth by anybody who is not prepared to try to take them in a fight.
