The Teacher

A god of knowledge and learning. Still followed in Tenetria to this day, thanks to some of the nation's settlers originally coming from there the Teacher is also one of the main gods worshipped in Gari.

To worship the Teacher is to recognise the value of knowledge and to hold the view that it is better to understand new or uncertain things than it is to destroy them. Although they have traditional Church services, it is not uncommon for worshippers of the Teacher to participate in study groups.

• Knowledge, reasoning and learning are the tools by which one may shape the world.
• One should always seek to enlighten both oneself and others.
• To yield to whim is foolishness, count only on reasoning.

• There is a split between those worshippers who try to eschew emotions and personal feelings in their reasoning as they feel that these cloud their judgement, as is the common belief in Tenetria, and those who also try to understand their emotions and personal feelings in the context of some meta-reasoning about their reasoning, as is the more common approach in Gari.
