Zel

The god of the monotheistic Zel Theocracy. To their followers, it is considered inappropriate to speak the name Zel as it is believed to be too holy for mortals to utter, and so they tend to refer to the nation as “The Theocracy”. They typically refer to their god as “The Imperatum”.

Though they do not generally try to dictate or micromanage aspects of people's lives, worship of Zel is central to the Theocracy and people are expected to donate to the Church and offer their prayers.

• Live with the Imperatum in both heart and mind.
• There is one true Imperatum. A healthy soul worships only the Imperatum.
• A good soul worships the Imperatum. A better soul gives to help others worship the Imperatum.
• It is a mar on the soul to worship pretenders as though they were the Imperatum.

• Those of the Zel Theocracy will tell you that there is no schism, as this would be blasphemy, which is illegal, as is heresy.
